Shot at the waterline so refraction scatters light across the pavé. A cinematic jewellery story with no underwater shoot.

The direction

Shot at the waterline so the surface cuts the frame in two. The model submerged, the jewellery just breaking through. Refraction does the work a reflector normally would, scattering light across the pavé. Cool blue-green water against warm skin and rose gold, with a deep red lip as the only saturated note.

The challenge in jewellery

Metal and stone lit for specular control. Setting, pavé and polish have to read before the styling does.
